Contrary to what the headline might lead you to believe, this is not the work of a drunk road crew. These zigzagging center stripes on the A811 through Arnprior in Scotland are an official attempt a slowing down traffic. They are supposed to give drivers the impression that there are serious bumps in the road. So far, this has not been very successful and locals complain that they just look plain stupid.

Traffic does indeed slow down, to avoid the photographers taking pictures of the wonky stripes.
